BBNaija season 6: I can use any guy – Nini boasts...Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, housemate, Nini, has revealed that she could use any guy she wants to use. Nina made this known on Wednesday while discussing her past relationship with some of the housemates. The Shine Ya Eye housemate also recounted how she ended her last relationship. She insisted that her former boyfriend misbehaved, adding that no guy can use her. Nina said, “I can use any guy I want to use. They can’t use me.” She added, “When he [my ex-boyfriend] came begging, I was like, ‘stop wasting your time, I am done, I am done.’”
//wasana.news...Revered songstress and public affairs commentator, Onyeka Onwenu has slammed Obi Cubana, a popular Abuja-based business mogul, for organizing a lavish burial in honour of his mother.The burial, which was held in Afor Uzo Oba, Anambra state over a week ago, has also continued to provoke diverse reactions. In her latest article, the ‘One love’ crooner described the burial as “obscene and insensitive.” “The point I make here is that there are different strokes for different folks, even within a family. I do not condemn anyone for how they mourn, with their own hard-earned money but I am very uncomfortable with the lavish display of wealth on any occasion, especially in a time of hardship and lack for most others,” she wrote. “The burial of Obi Cubana’s mother was not only lavish, it was obscene and insensitive. It sent all the wrong signals at a time when Nigeria is wracked with widespread poverty and lack. “I condemn it all. It does not reflect the Igbo culture that I grew up in. Ndigbo would not condone the conspicuous display of wealth. If you were found doing that, your close and extended family, your community would send a delegation to you, to ask about your source of the wealth you are throwing about. You would be ostracized if you had no convincing evidence of legitimate work.” Onwenu also slammed those criticizing the entire southeast region because of the entrepreneur’s action, adding that such indicates the deep-seated hatred for the Igbo. “…what I find equally deplorable in this whole debate, is the strenuous effort to tag the people of the Southeast, Ndigbo, with all manner of negative attributes because Obi Cubana is Igbo,” she added. “This is not surprising. It has always been the case. When there is unexplainable hatred, some people are bound to give a dog a bad name so that they can justify hanging it.”

A judge imposed a fine of 3 million roubles (40,000 dollars) on Google, the first time the company has faced a penalty of this kind in Russia. However, LinkedIn, an employment networking platform, has been completely blocked in Russia since 2016 for the same reason. Russia recently fined Google and other major Information Technology providers including Facebook and TikTok some 10 million roubles for allegedly refusing to delete illegal content.

Country legend Dolly Parton was on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Thursday, where she revealed the big purchase she made with royalties money from “I Will Always Love You.” The 1973 song of hers was covered by Whitney Houston in 1992, and became a massive hit on the soundtrack for Houston’s film, The Bodyguard. “I bought my big office complex down in Nashville. So I thought, ‘well this is a wonderful place to be,’” Parton said, after Cohen asked what the best thing was that she bought or invested in with the royalties. Parton reportedly made $10 million from the song in the 90’s, and continues to make money from it to this day. So while buying an office complex is no biggie, it’s where and why she bought it that makes it special to her. “I bought a property down in what was the Black area of town, and it was mostly just Black families and people that lived around there. And it was off the beaten path from 16th avenue,” Parton said. “And I thought, ‘well I am going to buy this place, the whole strip mall.’ And thought, ‘this is the perfect place for me to be,’ considering it was Whitney.” Parton has always spoken very highly of Houston and her version of the song, saying that she had to pull off the road to avoid crashing because she was so moved the first time she heard it. So that love for Houston, paired with Parton’s notable business savvy (Dollywood anyone?!) and a driving desire to help people, made her new office space purchase the perfect fit. “So I just thought this was great, I’m just gonna be down here with her people, who are my people as well,” Parton said. “And so I just love the fact that I spent that money on a complex. And I think, ‘this is the house that Whitney built.’”
